Built to brief, never off a shelf
I've been building custom miniature art on a freelance basis since August 2020, working directly with private clients and art students on pieces made to their brief rather than off a shelf.
Every commission is planned at scale before a single detail is added — customisation notes, reference material, and delivery timelines are agreed upfront, then tracked through to handover so nothing gets lost between the sketch and the finished piece.

Materials
Materials & finish
Most pieces start as MDF. From there, everything is hardened rather than painted.
No added colour
The brown you see comes from the hardening process itself, not paint or stain — nothing is coloured.
Longer shelf life
Hardening also toughens the material: an untreated MDF piece typically holds up 1–2 years — hardened, it lasts 4–5.
No nails
Every joint is built and held together without a single nail.

Scale planning
The piece is sketched and measured out so proportions hold up before any material is cut or shaped.
Build & detail
Sculpting, assembly, and the fine detailing that makes a miniature read as real at a glance.
Finish & handover
Final finishing, a status update with photos, and delivery — usually ahead of the agreed date.
